"Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:30-31
I had the privilege to grow up in church as far back as I can remember. I was active in children's and youth programs. I had the opportunity to see many people saved and serve faithfully in the beginning. However, oftentimes, it didn’t last. They quickly became weary and fell by the way.
What causes individuals to stop walking with God and turn to other things? What leads a person to not finish strong? While there are several contributing factors, one of the most common is that people fail to be renewed daily. As a result, their strength fades, and they collapse. The reality is that we are constantly faced with challenges and threats that are beyond our own strength.
The devil knows that if he can convince us to live in our own strength rather than live through the power of the Holy Spirit, he has placed us on the road to ruin. Rather than relying on our strength, we should be running to the Lord daily for a renewal of His strength.
We need to regularly go to God, spend time in His Word, and trust Him to renew our strength.
